About The Author

About The Author

Thomas D. Pagano is a captivating storyteller, who enjoyed a long and fulfilling career as a radio and newspaper reporter, editor, and columnist, and later, an award-winning strategic communications professional.

His vast experience and investigative skills are evident in the extensive research he conducted to develop stories and brief profiles about his Sicilian ancestors, most of whom left their picturesque seaside village of Terrasini, Sicily, in the early 1900s, and made their long, hard journey into American life.

Once in the U.S., they were quite entrepreneurial. Then again, because they could neither read, write, nor speak the English language, they had to be. They succeeded mostly as unskilled laborers in car plants, as ice and coal peddlers, florists, seamstresses, and as fruit and produce vendors.

The Pagano Chronicles, a Sicilian Family’s Journey into American Life is Tom’s first novel, despite the fact he has been a writer of news and corporate communications since the mid-1970s. He is St. Louis-based writer and Vietnam-era U.S. Army veteran. He loves big, loud family get-togethers, a great round of golf, fishing, gardening, history, and many other interests. Tom and his wife, Katie, are blessed with three sons, a daughter-in-law, and two precious granddaughters.
